Ghaziabad: The troubles of Chandrashekhar Azad, MP from Nagina Lok Sabha seat and national president of Azad Samaj Party, have increased. The special MP-MLA court of Ghaziabad has issued a non-bailable warrant against him in an assault case about eight years old. The court has also ordered confiscation of his property.

Accusation of slapping in wedding ceremony
This case is of Sahibabad police station area of Ghaziabad. It is alleged that Chandrashekhar Azad had slapped a young man during a wedding ceremony about eight years ago. After the incident, the police had registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC. This matter is pending in the MP-MLA court for a long time.
Action on continuous absence from appearance
Summons were sent to Chandrashekhar Azad several times for hearing in the court, but he did not appear. He remained absent during the scheduled hearing on Thursday also. After this, the court took a strict stance and issued a non-bailable warrant and ordered confiscation of the property.
Azad is active regarding 2027 elections
Amidst the legal matter, Chandrashekhar Azad is continuously active in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. He is organizing programs in different districts regarding the 2027 assembly elections. Recently, he addressed the booth workers conference at Maulagarh ground in Chandausi, Sambhal and appealed in support of his party's candidate from Chandausi assembly seat.
Now the focus is on whether Chandrashekhar Azad appears in the Ghaziabad court after the court's order or approaches the higher court for relief.
