Tirupati. While investigating the incident of setting fire to the motorcycle of BJP Mandal President Muniraju in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh, the police reached the alleged murder conspiracy. According to the police, six people including Muniraju's wife Prashanthi have been arrested in this case. Investigation has revealed that the wife was in constant touch with one of the accused and shared information about her husband's activities. All six accused were sent to judicial custody after being produced in the court.
The bike was burnt on the night of 13 September
The matter is of the night of 13 September. Muniraju's motorcycle was burnt outside his house. He lodged a complaint with the police. In the initial investigation, the police tried to find out whether the incident was the result of any political rivalry or local dispute related to Vinayak Chavithi's flex banner, but no concrete evidence was immediately found in this direction.
Police reached five youths through CCTV and technical investigation
After this the police started investigating the CCTV footage and technical evidence of the area. On the basis of investigation, Sai, Uday Kiran, Leela Krishna, Prithviraj and Harish were arrested. According to the police, during interrogation these youths admitted to setting the motorcycle on fire. After this, the police also investigated the mobile phones and social media activities of the accused.
The direction of investigation changed after wife's role came to light
During the investigation, the police's attention turned towards Muniraju's wife Prasanthi. According to the police, Prashanti was in constant touch with accused Sai. Investigation of social media activities revealed indications of contact and alleged relationship between the two. Police allege that Prashanti used to convey information related to her husband's daily routine, activities and location to Sai.
Accused of planning murder earlier also
According to the police, Prasanthi and the other accused had discussed several times the alleged conspiracy to harm and kill Muniraju. However, the plans made earlier reportedly did not come to fruition. Police are also investigating the incident of bike burning as a link to this alleged conspiracy.
Six accused in judicial custody
Apart from Prashanti, Sai, Uday Kiran, Leela Krishna, Prithviraj and Harish have been arrested in the case. The police presented all the accused in the court, from where they were sent to judicial custody. The police are now investigating the role of each accused in the alleged murder conspiracy and other aspects related to the entire plan.
