Singapore was ranked the world’s safest country for tourists, while Vietnam entered the top 10, with both benefiting from political stability and low levels of street crime, according to the World Economic Forum’s 2026 Travel and Tourism Development Index.
Vietnam ranked ninth with a score of 6.52 out of 7 in the safety and security category, which measures the extent to which a country exposes residents, tourists and businesses to security risks.
Singapore topped the category with 6.87 points, followed by Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The ranking reflects the World Economic Forum’s assessment of Vietnam’s stable, safe and secure socio-political environment amid global volatility and instability, according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism.
Industry insiders said Vietnam’s reputation as a safe destination has helped attract tourists amid global uncertainty fueled by the conflict in the Middle East.
Singapore is known for its strict laws and low crime rates, often hailed as one of the safest countries in Asia.
In contrast, Mexico, Mali and Colombia were ranked the most dangerous countries for tourists.
