In view of the proposed protest against SIR, security arrangements have been tightened around Central Jantar Mantar. 150 protesters have been detained at Jantar Mantar. Movement of passengers will remain closed till further orders at 12 metro stations including Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk, Mandi House, Janpath. Police and other security forces have been deployed in large numbers amid prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNS in New Delhi district.
Women workers of AAP were also detained by the police. Yogendra Yadav, Neha Bora also reached Jantar Mantar to participate in the protest from where they were detained. Despite heavy barricades at Jantar Mantar, DYFI and SFI workers moved towards the protest site. The police detained many protesters and took them away in buses.

Entry and exit at Barakhamba metro station has been closed till further notice. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation gave this information through a post on social media. When asked if any policeman on duty was injured during the ongoing protests at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi DCP Sachin Sharma said, “Some people have been injured, we are assessing the situation.”
