Parveen Hooda won gold medal: On the 13th day of Asian Games 2026, India has won its second gold medal in women's boxing. Parveen Hooda surprised everyone by defeating former world champion Chen Nien-Chin 3-2 in the final (65 kg). Parveen had won a bronze medal in the last Asian Games, but her medal was later withdrawn due to anti-doping rule violations. Now he has made a brilliant comeback and won the gold medal in the 65 kg category. Parveen has become the third Indian woman boxer to win a gold medal at the Asian Games, after Mary Kom (2014) and Lovlina Borgohain (2026).

Earlier, on Friday, Lovlina Borgohain ended India's 12-year wait for a gold medal in women's boxing. She defeated Ziyi Bao of China in the final of 75 kg category. Olympic medalist Lovlina defeated Bao by 5-0 unanimous decision.
