AI Crime: Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI has become an easy way to create photos and videos today, but its misuse can put someone in big trouble. In Singapore, a person was found guilty for sending a fake picture of a crocodile created by AI. Due to this picture made as a joke, the administration had to launch a search operation and stop the activities in the reservoir.

The matter is of 20th August. Ye Lin, a resident of Indonesia, prepared a picture of a crocodile with the help of Gemini AI. After this he sent this photo to a person working with him. Without information about the authenticity of the photo, the matter spread rapidly and the fear of crocodiles in Pandan Reservoir arose.
After receiving the information, Singapore's National Water Agency (PUB) started searching the area. An expedition was launched to search for the crocodile. During this period, Singapore Rowing Association and Singapore Canoe Federation had to stop water related activities.
The next day investigation revealed that the photo was created by AI and there was no crocodile there. After this, Lynn tried to delete the photo from the chat and Gemini's history, but PUB lodged a complaint with the police. Lin has admitted his crime in the court.
Now he may have to face punishment. In the case, there is a provision of jail up to three years and fine. In some circumstances, the charge of obstructing the judicial process can also lead to a punishment of up to seven years.

This case is a warning to those who use AI generated pictures or videos to spread jokes, rumors or confusion. Creating content with AI is easy, but its misuse can have serious legal consequences.
