Student Scholarship : During the scholarship and fee reimbursement program at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath mentioned many schemes related to education, scholarship, employment and youth. During this, he made serious allegations against the previous Samajwadi Party government regarding the scholarship of Scheduled Caste and Tribe students. The Chief Minister said that scholarships for SC-ST students were not sent in 2016-17. He claimed that after the formation of the government in 2017, scholarships for 2016-17 and 2017-18 were sent together.
The Chief Minister transferred scholarships and fee reimbursements worth more than ₹ 148 crore through DBT to the bank accounts of more than 4.60 lakh students of classes 9-10 and post-class 10 for the current financial year. In the program he also gave scholarship certificates to 11 students with his own hands.
Scholarship reached from Rs 2900 crore to Rs 6200 crore
CM Yogi said that earlier scholarships worth about ₹ 2900 crore were given in the state, whereas now the government is giving scholarships worth ₹ 6200 crore. He said that last year scholarships worth ₹ 6200 crore were distributed to 69 lakh students. According to him, in nine years, more than four crore students have got the benefit of scholarship and fee reimbursement.
The Chief Minister said that earlier students had to visit government offices to get scholarships, he alleged that in that system Babu and others used to embezzle the students’ share of money. Now the funds are being sent directly to the bank accounts of the students through Aadhaar based system, he said that the transparency in this system has increased due to the technology campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Scholarship deadline also fixed
CM Yogi said that last year, scholarship worth ₹ 2750 crore was given to 26.26 lakh students of Scheduled Caste and Tribe, ₹ 360 crore was given to 5.89 lakh students of minority category and ₹ 3072 crore was given to 37 lakh students of backward class. Scholarships were also given to 9.40 lakh children of low income group. The government has fixed the deadline for distribution of scholarships, under which the amount is sent after the completion of the admission process.
‘Every eligible child will get scholarship’
The Chief Minister directed the Social Welfare, Backward Class Welfare and Minority Welfare Department that no eligible student should be deprived of scholarship. He said that last time about four lakh students of SC-ST category could not get scholarship due to various reasons. After this, the portal was improved and now the process of giving benefits to these students also has been started.
CM Yogi told the students to use the scholarship amount for educational needs instead of spending it on food and drink. He advised them to buy good text books and reference books and read autobiographies of great men, informative and religious books. He also asked the students to increase their book bank.
Target to give tablets to two crore youth
The Chief Minister said that the government is working towards providing tablets to two crore youth. Out of these, 60 lakh youth have received tablets and he said that the rest of the youth will also be given tablets soon. He said that earlier the youth had to go to other states to prepare for exams like JEE and NEET, but now through Chief Minister Abhyudaya Coaching, they are getting the facility to prepare.
CM Yogi said that next month 50 thousand meritorious girls will be given scooties, he also mentioned the Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana and Chief Minister Mass Marriage Scheme. The Chief Minister said that the aim of the government is not to let any child’s education stop due to financial problems.
Announcement of one lakh more jobs in six months
The Chief Minister said that till now the government has given government jobs to about 10 lakh youth, he talked about giving jobs to one lakh more youth in the next six months. Also called upon the youth to prepare for competitive examinations with hard work.
CM Yogi said that before 2017, there was a shortage of teachers and necessary facilities in many schools of the state. He said that the dropout rate in the Basic Education Council was around 19-20 percent. The government worked on toilets, drinking water, furniture, flooring and other facilities in schools through Operation Kayakalp. It was also said to provide two uniforms, bags, books, sweaters and shoes and socks to the children.
Atal Residential Schools in 18 divisions
The Chief Minister said that Atal Residential Schools have been built in 18 divisions for construction workers, orphans and destitute children, where 18 thousand children have been admitted. Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalayas are run in 746 development blocks for girls from poor families, which have been extended from class 8 to class 12.
He also mentioned Jaiprakash Narayan Ashram style residential schools and PMShree schools for the weak, backward and SC-ST category children. Under Project Alankar, he talked about constructing new buildings of more than 2300 schools and providing facilities like lab, library, Atal Tinkering Lab, digital library and smart classes there.
‘Now UP walks with its chest held high’
The Chief Minister said that earlier Uttar Pradesh was called a sick state due to lack of education and other systems, but now the state is in a state of revenue surplus and is contributing to the development of the country. He said that Uttar Pradesh is now moving in the right direction and youth and children are its charioteers.
He told the students that their generation is fortunate and when they will be 36-37 years old, they will have a role in making the country happy and prosperous by 2047. CM said that nothing can be greater than the country and if the country remains happy, prosperous and safe then everyone will be safe.
If you make honest efforts then the results will be favorable.
Giving examples of the ministers present on the stage and their struggle, the Chief Minister told the students that there is no substitute for hard work. He mentioned the struggle of Cabinet Minister Omprakash Rajbhar, Minister of State Sanjeev Gond, Minister Aseem Arun, Danish Azad Ansari, Narendra Kashyap and SC-ST Commission Chairman Baijnath Rawat. He asked the youth to make honest efforts and said that after hard work, the results also come in favour.
In the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented scholarship certificates with his own hands to Ranveer Verma, Milli, Ajit Rawat, Ansh Mishra, Ananya Awasthi, Most Verma, Karishma, Abhishek Yadav, Bushra, Saima and Al Kaif.
