Rahul has become only the second Indian to score a century as a wicketkeeper-batsman in ODI against West Indies.
Rahul Dravid had scored two ODI centuries as a wicketkeeper-batsman against West Indies in his career. He played an unbeaten inning of 103 runs in 1999 and an unbeaten 109 runs in 2002. Both centuries came in Ahmedabad. At the same time, KL Rahul made a special record on this ground also by scoring a century in New Chandigarh. He has become the first batsman to score an ODI century here. Rahul also has a Test century in his name on this ground, which he scored against Afghanistan in June 2026.
KL Rahul completed 10 thousand international runs
Rahul, who came to bat at number five in the third ODI, scored an unbeaten 129 runs. He hit 10 fours and 6 sixes in his innings of 87 balls. With the help of his brilliant innings, India scored a big score of 351 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs. During this innings, Rahul had another big achievement in his name. He completed his 10 thousand runs in international cricket and became the 15th batsman for India to do so.
Jos Buttler has the biggest innings
The record for the biggest ODI innings by a wicketkeeper-batsman against West Indies is in the name of England’s Jos Buttler. Butler scored 150 runs in 77 balls at St. George’s on 27 February 2019. At the same time, Rahul has become the seventh designated wicketkeeper-batsman to score an ODI century against West Indies. For India, Rohit Sharma also played a brilliant inning of 92 runs on 85 balls, while Rituraj Gaikwad scored 57 runs on 69 balls. Thanks to these innings, India made a big score against West Indies.
