New Delhi. In Bangladesh, people of minority Hindu community are attacked daily. Apart from this, Hindu places of worship in Bangladesh have also been vandalized several times. A similar case has now happened in Tangail district of Bangladesh. According to media reports, unknown anti-social elements attacked the Hindu temple in Jamurki Paschimpara located in Mirzapur sub-district of Tangail district and broke many idols including Maa Durga.

Durga Puja has been happening in this temple located in Tangail district for 85 years. According to the local Hindu community, the temple was vandalized on the intervening night of Wednesday/Thursday. Seven idols including Maa Durga were broken. The Hindu community, excited for Durga Puja, is sad and angry over this incident. Hindus of the area are also worried about their safety. Jamurki Arya Samiti President Prakash Bakali said that the idols of seven gods and goddesses including Durga were completely made. They just had to be painted. People were here till Wednesday night, so no incident happened. On Thursday morning, people found that all the idols including Maa Durga had been broken.

The police and local administration have been informed about the desecration of idols in the temple located in Tangail district of Bangladesh. Police have registered a case in this matter and are investigating. The police have assured the Hindu community that they will be protected, but people are not able to trust the police. Sheikh Hasina's government in Bangladesh fell on 5 August 2024. After which people from minority Hindu, Buddhist and Christian communities were targeted in many incidents of violence. Many Hindus were also killed. Tariq Rahman's BNP government, which came to power after the elections in Bangladesh, has also not been successful in stopping attacks on Hindu minorities. Seeing their plight in Bangladesh, many Hindus have already migrated to India.
