Mika Singh calls out Diljit Dosanjh for promoting Hania Aamir film but not 'Border 2'

Mika Singh took aim at Diljit Dosanjh for allegedly showing less support for Border 2 than he did while promoting his film Sardaar Ji 3 with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir last year.

In a recent conversation with Times Nowthe 49-year-old Indian rapper praised the work of the 42-year-old Indian-American singer and actor, while also revealing that he found it unusual that Diljit remained silent about  his epic war film released on January 23, 2026.

“Why would I be jealous of Diljit? I am actually proud of him. After Daler paaji, if someone has come wearing a turban and made it as a singer, it is Diljit. And he is doing very good work,” Mika said.

He continued, “I could be wrong, but I feel that when Border 2 came out, Diljit paaji did not promote it even one per cent. He didn’t even thank Sunny paaji one per cent.”

The Chinta Ta Ta Chita Chita hitmaker pointed out that Diljit had neither expressed gratitude for his role alongside Sunny Deol in Border 2 nor shared anything about his role in Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaungadespite promoting Sardaar Ji 3which featured Hania.

“I have never seen Diljit say, ‘It is a big thing that my film with Sunny Deol is coming.’ He never spoke about Border 2. When the film came out, and even afterwards, I didn’t see him post about it. And Main Vaapas Aaunga was also released, but he didn’t put up any post. He made only one post about his film in which there was a Pakistani artist,” he added.

In his closing remarks, Mika said he found it unfathomable that the Naina crooner would not promote Bollywood despite working in the industry, while stressing that his advice came from a place of brotherhood, not jealousy.

“I don’t understand this. Why don’t you promote Bollywood when you work in Bollywood? Then you say, ‘I don’t need Bollywood,’ but you work in Bollywood. I am saying these things to him as a brother. Border 2 is one of the biggest films for our country. It is a film about Hindustan. Why don’t you post about it? You can check his Instagram and see if there is even one video where he has promoted Border 2,” he concluded.

What sparked Sardaar Ji 3 controversy?

Released overseas on June 27, 2025, Diljit Dosanjh’s starrer Sardaar Ji 3 was withheld from Indian cinemas amid backlash over Hania Aamir’s role in the film. The backlash followed the Pahalgam terrorist attacks, which left 26 people dead and prompted protests by several groups in India. The makers ultimately decided to skip the domestic market, despite the revenue the film could potentially have generated.
