On this occasion, Vijay Gaur said that respect for elders is an important ritual of our culture. Old Age Day should be celebrated as a festival instead of being limited to just formal events. He said that along with ensuring active participation of the elderly in social activities, regular communication with them is also necessary. The society should work towards providing a sensitive and supportive environment while understanding their dignity and needs.
Founder President of the organization, Avinash Kaur said that in the coming days, programs will be organized by Priyadarshini Ascent Foundation on topics related to women and child development along with the rights of the elderly and government schemes.
He said that there is a plan to organize a workshop in this regard by inviting experts and concerned officials. Respect for senior citizens and their social contribution was also discussed in the program. Speakers said that the experience and guidance of elders in family and society has special importance. There is a need to adopt respect and sensitive behavior towards them as a social responsibility.
