Ayodhya Deepotsav 2026: Rows of lamps, temples shining with lights and the amazing sight of faith on the banks of Saryu – Ayodhya has once again started preparations for the grand festival of lights. This year, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the 10th Deepotsav will be organized from November 5 to 7. 33 lakh earthen lamps will be lit in an area of about two kilometers including Ram Ki Paidi.
To give a grand and organized look to the event, the preparations of the administration and related departments have intensified. Arrangements are being made for 65 lakh wicks and 55 thousand liters of oil for uninterrupted lighting of lamps. Along with this, the process for arranging T-shirts, candles, 150 kg camphor and other necessary materials used in lighting the lamp has progressed. Five tenders have been issued for the arrangements of the event, which include lamp material, stage construction, decoration and other necessary arrangements.
A grand display of lights will be visible from Ram Ki Paidi to Saryu coast.
This time also a grand festival of lights will be organized by Shri Ayodhya Ji Teerth Vikas Parishad. A special stage will be prepared at Ram Ki Paidi, where cultural programs will be organised. Ghats decorated with lamps and major temples bathed in light will further enhance the grandeur of Ayodhya Dham. Preparations for LED decoration of major temples are also progressing. Special arrangements for lighting will be made from Saryu coast to various ghats. Ramnagari, decorated with lamps and lights, will also present a picture of its cultural heritage and development with faith.
34 thousand volunteers will take responsibility of Deepotsav
This time 34 thousand volunteers will play an important role in making the Deepotsav successful. These volunteers will take care of lighting the lamp, maintaining the smooth functioning of the arrangements and the convenience of the devotees. Arrangements are also being made for food and drinks for the 34 thousand students participating in the event. This will also give the young generation an opportunity to join this grand event and be a part of the Festival of Lights.
Special focus on safety, traffic and cleanliness
This time, along with making the Deepotsav more grand and organized than before, special attention is also being given to safety, traffic and cleanliness. Preparations are being made for rows of lamps, flower decoration and lighting in an area of about two kilometers. This festival of lights, organized under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is important for the religious event as well as for the cultural identity and tourism of Ayodhya. Keeping in view the possibility of arrival of lakhs of devotees and tourists, emphasis is being laid on improving the facilities.
Supply of material will start as soon as the tender process is completed.

Preparations for the training of volunteers and food arrangements for the students are also in the final stages. Deepotsav has now become the identity of Ayodhya and is discussed every year in the country and abroad. Amidst preparations to give a more grand look to the 10th Deepotsav, Ramnagari is ready to shine with the light of 33 lakh lamps in November.
