Rajpal Yadav stuck in legal troubles
Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav is once again embroiled in legal trouble related to a loan of Rs 9 crore. During the hearing held on October 5, the Supreme Court reprimanded him for not following the instructions. Earlier, the court had ordered him to deposit Rs 5 crore to save him from going to jail, but Rajpal Yadav has not yet followed this order.
The case started from 2010
This case dates back to 2010, when Rajpal Yadav had taken a loan of Rs 5 crore from a firm for the production of his first film 'Ata Pata Lapata'. Due to the film not earning as expected, he faced difficulty in repaying the loan. After this, due to interest and other expenses this amount increased to approximately Rs 9 crore.
Questions raised on draft
In the hearing held on October 5, it became clear that Rajpal Yadav has not yet deposited Rs 5 crore as per the court order. His lawyer presented a photocopy of the demand draft of Rs 50 lakh in the court, but Chief Justice Surya Kant questioned it, asking, “Is this also genuine?”
Strong comment from the court
During the hearing, the complainant said that Rajpal Yadav is an actor and is also acting in the court. The Supreme Court expressed displeasure on this and said that it is necessary to control such arrogance. The court warned him that he should know when to speak and said, “Your place is in jail.”
Bank closure excuse
Rajpal Yadav's lawyer, explaining the reason for the delay in payment, said that the banks were closed for 3-4 days. On this, the Supreme Court said that they had already been given two weeks' time, which has now ended. The court also said that if he wanted more time, an application could have been made for it.
Next hearing on October 7
The complainant told the court that Rajpal Yadav owed a total of Rs 7.5 crore and action should be taken against him for not following the court order. After this, Chief Justice Surya Kant directed Rajpal Yadav to make the payment by the next day and ordered the next hearing of the case on October 7.
