UP News: CM's big announcement, green embankment will be built in Lucknow; Help of Rs 4 lakh and permanent house to the victims

Flood in Lucknow: Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, has to deal with flood water every year during the rainy season. Due to the overflow of Gomti river, many surrounding areas get submerged. To end this serious problem forever, the state government has given green signal to a huge scheme. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself visited the flood affected areas and announced that a 40 km long safety embankment would be built from Faizullaganj to Naimish. This big project has been approved and as soon as this year's monsoon ends, funds will be released immediately and work will be started on the ground. With the construction of this dam, Lucknow as well as many surrounding villages will get rid of waterlogging forever.

Concrete road will be built like green corridor

This embankment will not be just a pile of soil, but will be developed as a modern green corridor. A concrete and wide road will be built on the upper part of the embankment, which will provide a new and direct way for people to travel. The Chief Minister has ordered senior officials of the Irrigation Department to conduct a technical survey of the entire bank of the Gomti River and make a strong proposal and submit it to the government.

After the embankment is built, special arrangements will be made to ensure that rain water does not flood the residential settlements. Heavy capacity pumping sets will be installed in populated areas. Whenever the river water rises, the rain water accumulated in the localities will be immediately taken out through these pumps, due to which there will be no risk of dampness and waterlogging in the houses.

CM reached among the victims after aerial survey

The Chief Minister took stock of the situation by conducting an aerial survey of the entire flood affected area from Faizullaganj to Naimish. After this he directly reached BKT area and met the families surrounded by water. The Chief Minister himself stood there and distributed relief material to the people and inquired about their well-being. He gave strict instructions to the administrative officials present on the spot that all the families whose houses have entered water should be immediately shifted to relief camps.

These camps have been set up in nearby schools and marriage halls. The Chief Minister clearly said that every person living in the camps should get fresh and hot food both in the morning and evening. Instructions have been given to make complete arrangements for milk for children to drink, nutritious food for pregnant women and dry straw and bran for cattle.

Compensation and permanent house announced

In this time of crisis, the government has assured to provide all kinds of help to the victims. The Chief Minister said that if a person dies due to drowning in flood waters or due to lightning, his family will be given financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh. Poor families whose kutcha houses have been completely destroyed by the flow of water, will be built new pucca houses under the government housing scheme.

Apart from this, a survey has been started to assess the loss of those farmers whose crops have been destroyed due to water logging in their fields. As soon as the report is received, compensation will be sent to the bank accounts of the farmers. Even in case of loss of cattle, cattle herders will be compensated as per the prescribed rules.

Vacant house guarding and health facilities

When people leave their homes and go to relief camps, they fear theft. Keeping this in mind, the Chief Minister has made strict arrangements for the security of the vacant houses. He has given instructions that police forces, home guards, PRD jawans and watchmen will continuously patrol these settlements at night, so that no one's belongings can be stolen.

On the other hand, concrete steps have also been taken to prevent diseases. The risk of poisonous insects and snakes increases in water-filled areas, hence all government hospitals have been asked to have full stock of anti-snake venom medicine. Adequate numbers of injections for stray animal bites will also be available. Teams of doctors and veterinarians will continuously set up camps and conduct tests in the affected settlements.

Every necessary item will be available in the relief kit

To ensure that the families surrounded by floods do not face any kind of difficulty in their daily life, the administration is distributing a special kit filled with 26 essential items. This relief kit includes 10 kg flour, 10 kg rice, 10 kg potatoes, 2 kg arhar dal, 1 liter oil, salt, spices and rain sheet for protection from water. If electricity supply is disrupted in the camps, then arrangements have been made for petromax and solar lights for lighting.

The country's Defense Minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh is also keeping an eye on the situation in the capital. He talked to the Chief Minister on phone and got information about the entire situation. The Chief Minister told him that due to heavy rains in Lakhimpur Kheri, Pilibhit, Sitapur and neighboring country Nepal, the water level of Gomati river has suddenly increased. There has been heavy rain in more than 50 districts of the state, but the administration is actively engaged in helping the people.
