Recipe to make soap at home
Almost every person uses soap in his daily routine. If you want, instead of buying soap from the market, you can easily make it at home. When making soap at home, you can use a variety of ingredients of your choice. Famous internet personality Poonam Devnani has shared two simple ways to make soap on her YouTube channel, using potatoes and tomatoes. Let us know about these methods.
Process of making soap from potatoes
For this method you will need about 60 to 75 grams of soap base, which is easily available in the market.
Cut the soap base into small pieces with a knife.
Heat water in a vessel and place a bowl with soap base in it. This will slowly melt the soap base.
Wash one potato thoroughly and grate it.
Put the grated potato in a clean cloth and extract its juice.
Add about a teaspoon of milk to the melted soap base.
After this, add potato juice, half teaspoon aloe vera gel and half teaspoon turmeric.
If you want, you can also add some almond oil and Vitamin-E capsules to it.
Mix all the ingredients well and pour the mixture into the soap mold.
If you don't have a soap mold, you can use a paper cup, disposable glass, or any small clean bowl.
Let the soap set and then remove from the mold and use.
Method of making soap from tomato
To make soap from tomatoes, approximately 100 grams of soap base will be required.
Cut the soap base into small pieces and melt.
Wash one tomato thoroughly and grind it finely.
Extract tomato juice with the help of a cloth.
Now mix half teaspoon sandalwood powder, half teaspoon coconut oil and half teaspoon aloe vera gel in tomato juice.
If you want, you can also add 1 to 2 Vitamin-E capsules.
Mix all the ingredients well and filter the mixture, so that the coarse particles of sandalwood get separated.
Now add this mixture to the melted soap base and mix well.
Pour the prepared mixture into the silicone mold. If you don't have a silicone mold, use a clean small container.
Let it settle at room temperature for some time. Use the soap after it has set.
Ways to keep homemade soap safe
Home made soaps usually do not contain preservatives like the soaps available in the market. Therefore, there is a possibility of it spoiling quickly if kept for a long time.
Therefore, always make soap at home in small quantities and keep it in a place where water does not accumulate. Keeping the soap in a dry place after use can prevent it from melting quickly.
Note: Before using any home made soap, it is better to do a patch test on a small amount of skin. If you feel problems like burning, itching or allergy, stop using it.
