October 6 (Read): Google’s Pixel 12 series is reportedly being tested with display upgrades across the lineup and could launch with Android 18. The upcoming series is expected to include four models, with the Pixel 12 Pro Fold reportedly set to receive the biggest improvement in screen resolution.
Four Pixel 12 Models Reportedly Listed
According to a report by OVR Plus, four Pixel 12 series smartphones have appeared in the GSMA IMEI database along with their model numbers. The reported lineup includes the standard Pixel 12, Pixel 12 Pro, Pixel 12 Pro XL and Pixel 12 Pro Fold.
The Pixel 12 is reportedly listed with model number GC0QU, while the Pixel 12 Pro carries the model number GWU59. The Pixel 12 Pro XL is said to have the model number G7U1Y. The Pixel 12 Pro Fold is reportedly listed as G4D5D.
The Pixel 12 series is expected to launch in 2027, with August reportedly being the most likely launch window.
Display Resolution Could Get a Major Upgrade
The leaked information also reportedly reveals the display resolutions of the upcoming smartphones.
The standard Pixel 12 is said to feature a 1080×2400-pixel display, while the Pixel 12 Pro could get a higher 1280×2824-pixel resolution. The Pixel 12 Pro XL is reportedly listed with a 1344×2952-pixel display.
The biggest display resolution upgrade could come to the Pixel 12 Pro Fold. According to the report, its inner display could have a resolution of 2296×2404 pixels.
For comparison, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is said to feature a 2076×2152-pixel inner display.
Pixel 12 Series May Be Tested With Android 18
The report also claims that Google is testing the Pixel 12 series with Android 18. Google typically develops its hardware and software alongside each other.
Testing the upcoming smartphones with the next Android version could allow Google to optimise the Pixel 12 series around its upcoming software platform before the devices are officially launched.
