Mathura:The matter of the death of Rasik Dulari Sharan alias Deepak Lodhi, associated with the ashram of Sant Premanand Maharaj of Vrindavan, has now reached the notice of the SC-ST Commission. Commission member Neeraj Gautam reached Mathura on Monday. He held a meeting with the police officers and took information about the action taken so far in the case and sought answers from the officers on various points related to the investigation.
The commission member instructed the police officers to register an FIR in the matter soon. He said that the matter should be investigated at a high level and in an impartial manner. Whoever is found guilty during investigation, action should be taken against him on the basis of evidence. He gave clear instructions to the officers that considering the seriousness of the case, there should be no negligence at any level in the investigation.
Question on CCTV footage leaked on social media
The issue of CCTV footage related to the incident continuously appearing on social media also came up in the meeting. Neeraj Gautam questioned the police that when the CCTV DVR was taken into custody by the police after the incident, then how the different footages were reaching the social media. He took information from the officials and gave instructions to fix the responsibility. The commission member said that CCTV and other evidence are very important in any criminal case. In such a situation, there is a possibility that the investigation may be affected if the material related to the investigation becomes public. He directed the police to also investigate the authenticity and source of the footage surfacing on social media. Also, it should be ensured that there is no tampering or negligence with the evidence related to the investigation.
