Paris: Indian models Bhavitha Mandava, Lakshmi Menon and Mona Bhujel brought a strong Indian presence to Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2027 runway at Paris Fashion Week, walking three distinct looks from Matthieu Blazy’s latest collection.
The three models appeared at the Chanel show held at the Grand Palais on Monday, each presenting a different interpretation of the French fashion house’s signature aesthetic.
Blazy’s Spring/Summer 2027 women’s ready-to-wear collection featured 83 looks, combining familiar Chanel elements with sheer fabrics, relaxed tailoring, checks, florals and new colour combinations.
The three Indian models stood out in contrasting ensembles, ranging from a sculptural black dress to a pistachio-green outfit and a sheer look combining checks and florals.
Bhavitha Mandava makes a statement in black
Bhavitha Mandava, Chanel’s first Indian House Ambassador, walked look number 10 from the collection.
Her black dress was defined by large sculptural floral details across the upper half of the outfit. The three-dimensional rose-like elements were stitched together across the bodice, creating a dramatic texture.
The dress also featured cut-out sections, adding a subtle element of skin exposure to the otherwise predominantly black look.
Its uneven silhouette gave the outfit a relaxed movement as Mandava walked the runway, balancing the structured floral detailing with a more fluid shape.
She completed the look with an ice-blue Chanel clutch and matching sandals. Chanel earrings added another detail to the ensemble.

The cool blue accessories created a noticeable contrast with the black dress, giving the look a softer finish while retaining its statement-making character.
Lakshmi Menon adds a fresh colour palette
Lakshmi Menon appeared in look number 61, bringing one of the collection’s more colourful combinations to the runway.
Her ensemble paired a pearl-white silk sleeveless blouse with a pistachio-green skirt.
The blouse featured a gold chain detail around the neckline, while the skirt was finished with gold edging and jewelled buttons.
A broad white belt defined the waist and gave the flowing outfit a more structured silhouette.
Menon’s styling also incorporated Chanel’s familiar tweed aesthetic through the jacket worn with the ensemble.
She completed the look with sandals and a Chanel clutch, maintaining the polished styling associated with the collection.
The combination of pearl white, pistachio green and gold gave the outfit a lighter and more contemporary appearance compared with the darker looks seen elsewhere on the runway.
Mona Bhujel brings together sheer and checks
Mona Bhujel walked look number 17, which offered another contrasting take on Blazy’s interpretation of Chanel.
Her outfit featured a sheer black blouse with spaghetti straps and gathered detailing through the torso.
A floral embellishment across the bust added a decorative element to the transparent fabric.
Bhujel paired the blouse with a gingham-patterned skirt and a matching jacket, bringing together three distinct elements — sheer fabric, checks and floral detailing.
The combination created a playful interpretation of Chanel’s classic patterns while keeping the overall look rooted in the fashion house’s established visual language.
A leather belt added structure around the waist, while a classic Chanel handbag completed the runway ensemble.
The look demonstrated how traditional Chanel-inspired checks can be combined with more contemporary materials and styling.
Three distinct looks from Blazy’s Chanel
The appearances by Mandava, Menon and Bhujel highlighted the range within Blazy’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection.
Mandava’s sculptural black dress focused on shape and three-dimensional floral detailing.
Menon’s pistachio-green and pearl-white ensemble introduced a softer colour palette, with gold accents providing additional detail.
Bhujel’s look took a more experimental route, combining sheer fabric with gingham checks and floral decoration.
Despite their differences, all three looks retained elements associated with Chanel, including its use of structured accessories, jewellery, tailored pieces and recognisable patterns.
The styling also demonstrated Blazy’s approach to updating familiar house codes rather than abandoning them entirely.
Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection
Blazy’s collection featured 83 looks and drew on several established Chanel signatures while introducing new combinations of fabric, colour and silhouette.
Checks and florals appeared alongside sheer materials and relaxed tailoring, creating a collection that moved between classic and contemporary styling.
The runway also demonstrated how Chanel’s familiar visual language can be interpreted through different silhouettes and styling choices.
The collection’s use of contrasting textures allowed individual looks to take on distinctly different personalities.
That variety was reflected particularly clearly in the three looks worn by the Indian models.
A notable Indian presence in Paris
The participation of Mandava, Menon and Bhujel gave the Chanel runway a notable Indian connection during Paris Fashion Week.
For Mandava, the appearance carried additional significance as she is Chanel’s first Indian House Ambassador.
Her presence alongside established model Lakshmi Menon and Mona Bhujel also brought attention to the growing visibility of Indian and South Asian models on international fashion runways.
The three models did not appear in similar looks or styling. Instead, each was assigned an individual outfit that reflected a different aspect of the Spring/Summer 2027 collection.
Their contrasting appearances also allowed the collection’s range to be seen through three different runway personalities.
Three models, three interpretations
The Chanel show ultimately offered three very different fashion moments through the Indian models.
Mandava’s black sculptural dress focused on dramatic construction and floral forms, while Menon’s pistachio-green look relied on colour, silk, gold details and Chanel’s familiar tailoring language.
Bhujel’s sheer black blouse, gingham separates and floral embellishment provided a more playful interpretation of the collection.
Together, their appearances underlined the versatility of Blazy’s Chanel debut collection for Spring/Summer 2027.
The three runway looks also demonstrated how the house’s established codes — from checks and tweed to handbags and jewellery — can be reshaped through colour, texture, transparency and silhouette.
As Paris Fashion Week continues to showcase the next season’s collections, the appearances of Bhavitha Mandava, Lakshmi Menon and Mona Bhujel have added a distinct Indian presence to one of the week’s most prominent fashion showcases.
