During Modi’s tenure as Chief Minister, emphasis was laid on many schemes for industrial investment and development in Gujarat. Vibrant Gujarat Summit was started in the year 2003, through which investors from India and abroad were invited to invest in the state.

In the year 2013, BJP declared Narendra Modi as its Prime Ministerial candidate for the Lok Sabha elections. In the Lok Sabha elections held the following year, BJP achieved majority on its own by winning 282 seats.
On 26 May 2014, Narendra Modi was sworn in as the 14th Prime Minister of India. After this, BJP also won in the 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections and Modi became Prime Minister for the third consecutive time.
