All India Muslim Jamaat President Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi on Wednesday said welfare schemes of the Narendra Modi-led Union government benefit citizens across communities without discrimination, including Muslims.
Congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years in public life and governance, Razvi said Muslims across the country are also receiving benefits under various government welfare schemes.
Speaking to IANS, Razvi said schemes such as the Ayushman Bharat health insurance programme, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Ujjwala Yojana were reaching beneficiaries without discrimination based on religion.
He criticized claims that Muslims were not benefiting from government welfare schemes, saying such assertions did not reflect the ground reality.
“Wherever houses have been built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, poor Muslims have also benefited. Similarly, take farmers, for example. When farmers are helped through government schemes, there is no discrimination there either,” he said.
Razvi said the focus of government welfare programs was on economic need rather than religious identity.
“Rather, the poor farmer is considered; neither Hindu nor Muslim is considered,” he said, adding that it was the government's responsibility to ensure the safety and protection of citizens while addressing their economic hardships.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is fulfilling this responsibility very well,” Razvi said.
Meanwhile, Swami Avdheshanand Giri, Acharya Mahamandleshwar of Juna Akhara, also praised Modi's service to the nation as the Prime Minister completed 25 years in governance.
In a post on X, Avdheshanand Giri described Modi's journey as an example of dedication, determination and commitment to national service.
He said Indian philosophy considers work undertaken for the welfare of people as a form of austerity, adding that an individual who dedicates time, strength and determination to the progress of the nation can inspire hope among millions.
