    • For dough: 1 cup wheat flour, half teaspoon turmeric powder, half teaspoon salt, one teaspoon ghee, water.
    • Ingredients for filling: 1 cup chana dal, 3/4th cup jaggery, 1 tsp ghee, 1/2 tsp cardamom powder, 1/2 tsp nutmeg powder.

How to make Puran Poli

    • First step: To make Puran Poli, first soak 1 cup of gram dal in water overnight. Next morning add water and gram to the cooker. So that the gram gets cooked completely, take it out after six to seven whistles. When the gram cools down, take it out of the water and add jaggery powder to it. Keep in mind that the gram water should be completely filtered. Now grind the gram very finely on a sealed grater. After grinding, add cardamom and nutmeg powder to it. Your filling is ready.
    • Second step: Now prepare to knead the dough. In a big plate, add wheat flour, turmeric powder, salt and one spoon ghee and mix well. Now knead the dough well until it becomes soft. Keep in mind that flour has not been added so it will have to be kneaded more. After kneading, apply ghee on the dough and cover it with a cotton cloth and leave it to set for half an hour. By following this step puris become soft and fluffy.
    • Third step: After the stipulated time, remove the cloth and add one spoon of ghee to the dough and knead it once again. Now take a ball of dough, make a deep hole, put the filling in it and seal it well. Now cut a plastic zip and place the puri on it and press it with your hands. After that, roll the puri with a rolling pin with light hands. It has to be rolled out until it becomes thin.
    • fourth step: Now place the pan on the gas and grease it with ghee. After that place the puri on the pan and cook well till it turns brown from both the sides. In this way your Puran Poli is ready. Enjoy it with aamras or curd.
