Opposition parties are continuously demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. National General Secretary of Congress Sachin Pilot has reacted to the ongoing opposition movement against the Election Commission. He said that the Election Commission is not bigger than the President. The Election Commission has become a complete dictator. He also warned that we will not remain silent on the issue of vote theft and will expose dishonesty.
Congress leader Sachin Pilot said, “The Election Commission has the responsibility to save democracy but it is playing with democracy. Earlier, demonetization was done during the BJP government and now voting is being done.”
He also said that we will not remain silent on the issue of vote theft. We will expose dishonesty and will go from village to village to make people aware. Congress party will work to save democracy. He asked that if the MPs of the opposition parties want to meet the Chief Election Commissioner, then what is the problem in meeting them?
The former Deputy CM of Rajasthan further said, “Each MP represents about twenty-five lakh voters. The treatment given to the Leader of Opposition has never happened before. The attitude of Delhi Police is punishable. There is a need to make the Election Commission completely impartial. The condition of the country is not good.”
Congress General Secretary Pilot also claimed that the party will perform well in the Panchayat elections to be held in Rajasthan. He said, “We had left BJP on a tie in the municipal elections. We will work to defeat BJP badly in the Panchayat elections. BJP is trying to get majority with the help of Election Commission and money power. The Congress party will field youth with clean image as candidates in the Panchayat elections.”
