President, Vice President and PM Modi's greetings to the countrymen on the occasion of Air Force Day

New Delhi, 08 October 2026: Today the country is celebrating the 94th anniversary of the Indian Air Force. It was established on October 8, 1932. This important event laid the foundation for a vision of air power that would shape the country's defense system for decades to come.

On this occasion, President Draupadi Murmu, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh have extended greetings to all the Air Force personnel (air warriors), ex-servicemen and their families. In a social media post, President Murmu had said that the Air Force has rendered exemplary service to the nation by maintaining high standards of professionalism, discipline and preparedness.

The President had said that 'Operation Sindoor' has demonstrated the courage, accuracy and operational preparedness of the Indian Air Force warriors in maintaining the security of the country. He noted that the Air Force has provided invaluable assistance even during disasters and humanitarian crises. The President had remarked that this dedication is becoming a source of inspiration and pride for the country.

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishna had said that the bravery, professionalism and unwavering devotion to duty of the Air Force is continuously protecting the sovereignty of the country and inspiring the country. He noted that the Air Force's role in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations reflects its strong commitment to serve humanity in times of crisis.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said on social media that the Air Force has instilled a sense of security among the people by displaying its power and bravery in the sky. He noted that with the induction of advanced technology, data capabilities and drones, the Air Force is well equipped to effectively counter emerging threats. The Prime Minister said that 'Operation Sindoor' is a testament to the bravery and capability of the Air Force warriors and the country is proud of them.

Home Minister Amit Shah had said that this is an army of real-life brave heroes, whose indomitable courage, utmost accuracy and ability to deliver devastating strikes is witnessed by the Earth itself and the satellites in space.

Additionally, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had said that the Indian Air Force is a symbol of courage, bravery, discipline and professionalism. He mentioned that the 'Air Warriors' (Air Force personnel) have always protected the country and whenever the country has faced any crisis, they have come forward to face the situation with unwavering devotion. Rajnath Singh had added that their dedication and service not only strengthens India's security, but also makes an important contribution to the spirit of national unity and collective resolve.
