Pune : Actor Nana Patekar was cremated with full state honors on Thursday night at his farmhouse in Maharashtra's Pune district. Patekar's son Malhar lit his funeral pyre. Thousands of people came to bid farewell to Patekar at the farmhouse located in Donje village. During this, people raised slogans of 'Nana Amar Rahe'. According to the actor's associates, Patekar had expressed his wish that his last rites be performed at the farmhouse.
Nana Patekar's mortal remains were brought from Goa to Pune on Thursday night and during this time Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was present at the airport. After this, the body was taken to the actor's farmhouse located in Donje village near Sinhagad Fort. Patekar (75) died this morning at his residence in Goa. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, Union Ministers Ramdas Athawale and Muralidhar Mohol, Maharashtra Ministers Chandrakant Patil, Uday Samant and Madhuri Misal, Lok Sabha Member Sunil Tatkare, 'Naam Foundation' co-founder and actor Makrand Anaspure, FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, actors Jackie Shroff, Sajid, filmmakers Anil Sharma and Sajid Nadiadwala including Bollywood, politics, sports and social circles were present during the funeral. Many celebrities were present.
