Patna. Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said on Thursday that the aim of the state government is to make one crore families of Bihar into entrepreneurial families by connecting them with entrepreneurship and economic self-reliance. He said that in the next five years, work will be done on a large scale in the fields of industry, employment, education, infrastructure and energy.
CM Samrat Chaudhary was addressing the one-day orientation and first installment distribution program of the selected beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Entrepreneur Scheme organized by the Industries Department at Habapu Auditorium in Patna. He inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp and presented a symbolic check to the selected beneficiaries in the financial year 2025-26. During this period, funds were transferred to the bank accounts of more than 7 thousand beneficiaries of the first, second and third installments of the Chief Minister Udyami Yojana.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the MSME centers established in all the districts of the state. Also released a booklet based on Bihar MSME Policy-2026, Chief Minister Micro, Small and Medium Industries Cluster Development Scheme-2026 and Micro and Small Enterprise Facilitation Council Rules-2026. CM Samrat Chaudhary said that under the Chief Minister Entrepreneur Scheme, 45 thousand entrepreneurs are being prepared in the MSME sector. These include 14 thousand Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, 10 thousand extremely backward classes, 9,500 women, 9 thousand youth and 2,500 minority class entrepreneurs. The state government is spending Rs 3,500 crore on this scheme.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a provision of Rs 10 thousand crore for the MSME sector. Bihar is likely to get at least one tenth of this. This will give new impetus to small and medium enterprises of the state. The Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for this. The Chief Minister said that a target has been set to bring investment of Rs 5 lakh crore in PPP mode to promote industries in Bihar. Work will be done towards providing 20 thousand MW electricity to industries in the next five years. To give priority to goods manufactured in Bihar in government procurement, 25 to 40 percent government procurement will be done under the Purchase Preference Act.
He said that the government is trying to ensure that the youth of Bihar do not have to go to other states for employment. Youth should not be job seekers but become employment providing entrepreneurs. For this purpose, MSME centers have been opened in every district, where local entrepreneurs will get guidance and assistance. The Chief Minister also mentioned the work being done in the field of education and infrastructure.
He said that Saraswati Vidya Niketan Model Schools have been opened at 700 places in the state, while 211 degree colleges have been established. Work will be done towards starting science studies in these colleges from next year. He said that in the next two years, work will be done towards construction of ropeways at 20 important places in the state. There is also a target to connect agricultural feeders with 100 percent solar energy in the next one year.
The Chief Minister said that the objective of development is to bring prosperity and economic self-reliance in the lives of every section of the society. He called upon everyone to participate in making Bihar prosperous.
