After riding a bicycle for one and a half decade, Rakesh Pratap Singh will now hold the BJP flag, said – Politics is not possible with those who burn Ramcharitmanas.

Rakesh Pratap Singh, who has been MLA from Gauriganj Assembly seat in Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh for three consecutive terms on Samajwadi Party (SP) ticket, has announced to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on October 14. He accused SP of promoting nepotism and casteism and gave the reason for leaving the party.

Rakesh Pratap Singh said on Thursday that it is not possible to do politics where the existence of Lord Ram is questioned, there are incidents of burning and tearing of Ramcharitmanas, where caste and family are worried instead of nation and society. He said, 'About three years ago, he had told a religious forum in Gauriganj that whether he remains an MLA or not, whether he gets a ticket or not and whether there is politics or not, politics cannot be done with those who burn and tear Ramcharitmanas, question the writings of Tulsidas and make objectionable comments against Sanatan and Hindu religion.'

On the question of joining BJP, he said that about 90 percent of the people who have personal relations with him will also take membership of BJP. He claimed that his supporters working at the booth and polling level will also join the BJP with him. Rakesh Pratap Singh said that on October 14, he will take membership of BJP in the presence of many political personalities including BJP State President and Union Minister Pankaj Chaudhary, National General Secretary Smriti Irani, State Government Minister Pratibha Shukla, Krishna Paswan, Dara Singh Chauhan, Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh. He has also requested the Mayor of Ayodhya to participate in the program. Claimed that SP MLAs Abhay Singh and Vinod Chaturvedi will also join BJP along with him.

There is neither P, nor D nor A in SP's PDA.

Rakesh Pratap Singh also raised questions on SP's slogan of Backward, Dalit, Minority (PDA) and said that there is neither P, nor D nor A in SP's PDA, but only family members are there in it. Referring to the Rajya Sabha elections, he accused SP of giving priority to families and industrialist families. He said that BJP has given representation to various castes and classes in the Rajya Sabha, whereas SP has not given representation to Dalits and minorities in its share of seats. On the question of contesting the assembly elections, Rakesh Pratap Singh said that the decision will be taken by the party's parliamentary board. He said that whichever candidate contests from BJP, he will sacrifice everything for his victory.

Rakesh has gone to assembly thrice on SP ticket

It is noteworthy that Rakesh Pratap Singh had won the assembly elections for the first time in 2012 on SP ticket. After this, he won from Gauriganj seat on SP ticket in 2017 and 2022 also. After doing SP politics for almost one and a half decade, he is now going to join BJP.
