PCB Announces PSL Schedule: Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the dates of the 12th season of Pakistan Super League on Thursday 8 October. PSL 2027 will be organized in March-May next year. The tournament will start from March 18 while its final match will be played on May 2. The 12th season of Pakistan Super League is once again going to clash with IPL. This will be the third consecutive year when the dates of Pakistan’s T20 league will clash with the IPL.
PSL will clash with IPL dates
Pakistan Super League 2027 will be organized from 18 March to 2 May. At the same time, IPL 2027 is also planned in the March-May window only. In such a situation, it is almost considered that once again PSL will conflict with the schedule of IPL. This will be the third consecutive time when the T20 league dates of the two countries will clash. This was the first time in the year 2025 that a direct conflict was seen in the schedules of both the leagues. After that, something similar was seen again in 2026.
Pakistan may suffer loss
IPL is the richest and most popular T20 league in the world. Apart from this, the brand value of IPL is also many times more than that of PSL, due to which Pakistan may have to suffer losses. At the same time, there has been talk of PSL getting limited advertising and sponsorship due to conflict with IPL dates. Since both the leagues are together, many foreign players prefer to play in the Indian league. During IPL 2026, many foreign players left Pakistan Super League midway and joined IPL. Players like Blessing Muzarabani, Dasun Shanaka, Spencer Johnson and Corbin Bosch left PSL and came to play IPL.
PCB issued statement
Pakistan Cricket Board issued a statement saying that after talking to all the stakeholders and partners, PCB has approved these dates for PSL 2027. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said, PSL showed the world last season what this league can do. The next season will take it further. We are committed to delivering another great season.
