Rain warning from Uttarakhand to Kerala, 60 kmph winds in Bihar

Heavy Rain Alert: Weather is currently dry in most parts of the country and rainfall activity has reduced. However, there is a possibility of weather reversal in some states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of rain, thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds over many areas for Friday, October 9.

Rainfall forecast from Uttarakhand to Kerala

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is likely in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on October 9. During this time, thunderstorms and lightning may occur. Wind speed is likely to reach 40 to 50 km per hour in Uttarakhand. Heavy rain may occur at few places over South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. People living in these areas need to take precautions keeping in mind the weather conditions.

Wind will blow at a speed of 60 km per hour in Bihar

Thunderstorm and lightning are likely at some places in Bihar on October 9. Meanwhile, the wind speed can reach 40 to 60 kilometers per hour. Apart from this, Odisha, East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are likely to receive rain at isolated places during October 9 to 11.

Weather will change in Haryana, Punjab and Delhi

The Meteorological Department has predicted cloudy weather in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and Punjab from October 9 to 14 with light rain at some places. Skies in Delhi-NCR may remain generally cloudy on Friday. Light rain and light winds are likely in some areas. However, weather changes may be observed according to local conditions.

There is a chance of rain in the northeastern states as well

Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura may receive rain at isolated places during October 9 to 14. Chances of thunder, lightning and thunderstorms have also been expressed during this period.

Monsoon will depart from some parts of the country

According to the Meteorological Department, during the next three to four days, conditions favorable for the return of Southwest Monsoon over East India, some more parts of North Peninsular and many parts of Northeast India are developing. Due to this, rainfall activity may decrease in these areas in the coming days. People are advised to keep an eye on local weather forecasts and official warnings as the weather changes.
