Training program will run for school security

Badaun. Regarding the operation and effective implementation of Chief Minister School Safety Program Phase-3, a meeting was organized under the chairmanship of District Development Officer Manoj Kumar at Vikas Bhawan on Friday. In the meeting, a detailed discussion was held regarding organizing disaster management training in schools under the Basic Education and Secondary Education Department. In the meeting, all the members agreed to conduct disaster management training in a total of 200 schools including 167 schools of basic education and 33 schools of secondary education. In the meeting, emphasis was laid on making disaster prevention, safety measures and preparedness to deal with emergency situations effective in schools. Under the School Safety Programme, discussions were held to make students and school personnel aware of disaster management and to provide information about necessary precautions and safety measures during possible disasters. Its objective is to develop a safe environment in schools and make necessary preparations to ensure safety of life and property in emergency situations.

The Chief Fire Officer directed that the fire safety equipment installed in all the schools of the district should be thoroughly tested. If any deficiency is found during testing, it should be rectified immediately, so that fire fighting equipment can be used effectively in emergency situations like fire. He also stressed the need to maintain proper fire safety system in schools and ensure functionality of equipment. In the meeting, emphasis was laid on the concerned officers to coordinately conduct the activities prescribed under the school safety program and make disaster management training effective, so that the security related arrangements in schools can be strengthened. On this occasion, concerned officers including Chief Treasurer, District School Inspector, District Basic Education Officer, District Coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra and representative of PAC team were present.
