Nana Patekar Unnatural Death Case: Veteran actor of Hindi and Marathi cinema Nana Patekar merged with Panchatattva. He died on 8 October at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa. 75-year-old Nana Patekar was taken to Manipal Hospital in an unconscious state, where doctors declared him brought dead. After this, his mortal remains were brought to his farmhouse in Donje village, Pune for the last rites. His last rites were performed here with state honours.
Nana Patekar was cremated by his son Malhar Patekar. At the same time, a large number of fans and celebrities from the film world came to pay their last respects. Due to Nana's demise, there is a wave of mourning among the Hindi and Marathi film industry as well as his fans.
Goa Police registered a case of unnatural death
In the case of Nana Patekar's death, Goa's Panaji Police has registered a case of Unnatural Death (UD) under Section 194 of the Indian Civil Security Code i.e. BNSS. According to the information received from Goa Police, on October 8, at 8.07 am, the police had received a call from the Medical Officer of Manipal Hospital. It was told by the hospital that Nana Patekar was brought to the hospital from his residence in Dona Paula, where he was found dead. After this, the police collected information related to the incident site and the hospital and registered the case. At present Goa Police is investigating the matter.
Goa Police have registered a medico-legal Unnatural Death (UD) case in connection with the death of veteran actor Nana Patekar. The case has been registered under Section 194 of the BNSS, with PSI Nitin Naik conducting the inquiry. Nana Patekar was brought to Manipal Hospital from his residence in Dona Paula and was declared brought dead by doctors. As part of the inquiry, police will conduct an inquest, arrange a post-mortem at GMC and record statements of family members and other relevant persons to establish the cause of death. At present, police are investigating the circumstances and cause of death. If the death is found to be natural, the case may be closed accordingly. If any foul play or other suspicious circumstances emerge, further legal action may follow.

Postmortem and other legal procedures
Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding Nana Patekar's death. In this case, the actual cause of death will be ascertained through postmortem and other necessary legal procedures. The police will take necessary action including recording the statements of the people concerned and investigating the available facts. Initial reports have suggested cardiac arrest as the cause of death, although the police investigation and post-mortem process will be important. Registration of a case of unnatural death is not in itself a confirmation of any conspiracy or crime. Based on the findings of the investigation, the police will decide further action.
Malhar's resolve to continue social service
Nana Patekar was known for his social work along with acting. He worked to help farmers, water conservation and help people in rural areas through Naam Foundation. After the funeral, son Malhar Patekar said while talking to the media that the resolutions his father had taken regarding social service will be fulfilled in future also. He said that this work will not be limited to Maharashtra only, but help to the needy and especially the farmers will be continued in the entire country. Malhar said emotionally that he cannot keep his father away from him, because thinking like this will make it difficult for him to carry forward the work of Naam Foundation. He will always work thinking that his father is with him.
