Asian Games medal winning players will give message of drug free youth

New Delhi/Varanasi. The 94th edition of ‘Fit India Sunday on Cycle’ will be held in Varanasi on Sunday, 11th October to spread the message of fitness, youth empowerment and drug-free India.

In this event to be held from 6 am in the morning, a cycle journey will be taken out from Namo Ghat to the Deeksha Mandap of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University. This time the theme of the event has been kept as ‘Drug-free youth for developed India’.

Youth, fitness lovers, common citizens and sports personalities will participate in this initiative. Its objective is to make cycling a simple, accessible and eco-friendly means of leading an active and healthy lifestyle.

Through the event, the message will be given that regular physical activity plays an important role in better health as well as in staying away from drugs and building a strong society.

Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports and Labor and Employment Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya will attend the program as the chief guest. On this occasion, players who have brought glory to the country by winning medals in the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games will also participate along with the youth.

Asian Games medal winners will grace the event
Prachi Chaudhary, who won a bronze medal in the women’s 400 meter race, and Parul Chaudhary, who won two bronze medals in the women’s 3000 meter steeplechase and 5000 meter race, will participate in the program.

Jai Kumar, who won silver medal in mixed 4×400 meter relay and bronze medal in men’s 4×400 meter relay, will also participate. The presence of Raj Kumar Pal, who won gold medal with the Indian hockey team, will also make the event special.

With the participation of these players, the youth will get an opportunity to meet players who have played at the highest level for the country and take inspiration from their experiences. The journey of the players shows the importance of discipline, consistent practice, determination and dedication to excel.

There will be many activities including yoga and zumba
Along with the cycle journey, yoga sessions, Zumba, recreational games and other interactive activities will also be organized at Namo Ghat.

The objective of these programs is to make people aware of fitness and health and encourage them to make physical activities a part of everyday life.

This campaign is linked to the broader goal of a fit India and a drug-free society. Under this, people will be motivated to cycle, walk and do regular exercise.

The message will also be given that the collective role of families, communities, educational institutions and sports personalities is important in the fight against drugs.

‘Fit India Sunday on Cycle’ is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Cycling Federation of India, Rahgiri Foundation and My Bharat.

This campaign is organized simultaneously in all the states and union territories. Cycling activities are also organized at the Regional Centers of Sports Authority of India, National Centers of Excellence, Training Centers and Khelo India Centres. More than six thousand NaMo Fit India clubs across the country participate in this initiative every week.

By organizing the 94th edition in Varanasi, an effort will be made to bring fitness, youth participation and sports excellence on one platform, so that the message of a healthy, active and drug-free India can reach more and more people.
