Chennai, Oct 01:
Tickets for the historic Big Bash League (BBL) match in Chennai will go on sale to the general public from noon on October 10, with prices starting at Rs 1,500.
The Melbourne Renegades will take on the Perth Scorchers at the M A Chidambaram Stadium on December 12, marking the first time the Australian T20 league will stage a regular-season match outside Australia.
In the first phase of ticket sales, the F Lower Tier will be the most affordable option at Rs 1,500. Tickets for the I, J and K Lower Tier stands will cost Rs 2,500, while seats in the corresponding upper tiers will be priced at Rs 2,000. Premium seating options include the KMK Terrace at Rs 3,500 and the C Hospitality Box at Rs 6,000.
Tickets will be available exclusively through the District mobile application by Zomato and District.in.
The BBL features distinctive rules and entertainment elements, including the Power Surge, a two-over period of fielding restrictions that teams can take after the 11th over. The competition has also introduced a designated hitter/designated fielder concept, allowing one player to bat while another takes the field.
Cricket Australia said it hoped fans in Chennai would experience the atmosphere and distinctive features associated with the tournament at venues such as the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the Sydney Cricket Ground.
