News Desk. A major step is being taken towards improving road connectivity in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh. To speed up industrial activities and ease the movement of heavy vehicles, proposals for 13 road projects worth about Rs 290.50 crore have been sent to the government. With the construction of these roads, it is expected that the local people will also get ease of transportation along with easy access to the industrial units.
Two important roads will be built in Churk
Under the scheme, there is a proposal to improve Churk Cement Factory Link Road and Churk-Bhilai Bandhi Road. It is estimated that around Rs 100 crore will be spent on these two projects. Apart from this, plans for construction of road from Kirhulia to Mahuli Vihar border and from Cherui to Markundi Junior High School are also included.
Rs 58.88 crore is proposed for Patvadh-Basuhari road and Rs 23 crore is proposed for constructing the road from Khadiya to Varanasi-Shaktinagar road. Along with this, Bardiya Link Road, Catti-Markundi area and other industrial connectivity routes have also been given place in the plan.
Connectivity in Dala and Obra also
Proposals have also been sent for two road projects in Dala area. At the same time, there is a plan to construct a road from Nadhira to Bakhirwa and improve another road to Obra. These projects aim to strengthen connectivity between industrial areas and surrounding settlements.
According to District Magistrate Charcha Gaur, four proposals have received financial approval, while another proposal is in the process. Further action on the remaining projects has to be taken at the government level. Upon completion of these schemes, it is expected that the transport system in Sonbhadra will be strengthened and industrial activities will be promoted.
