After the outrage expressed on the social media, it is now being reported that the Hindu Raksha Dal goon who was seen in the video has been arrested by the police. Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi also tweeted this video and targeted the central government and the Delhi Police. After that, when the case became hot, Delhi Police decided to arrest the goon.

What exactly is the case?

The incident took place in Kamala Market Police Station on DDU Marg. In a video that has gone viral on social media, some are seen beating up young students and shoving women. Interestingly, the footage shows that a policeman was also present at the scene when the incident took place.

The names of those arrested in this case are Raman Saini (50), Vivekananda alias Vivek (32), Kapil Kumar (27) and Ravinder Singh alias Govind Hindu (35), informed a senior police officer.

Action by Delhi Police

No official complaint was lodged with the police regarding the incident. However, after the video went viral on social media, the police took cognizance of the matter on their own. The investigation was speeded up after receiving information that the concerned person was likely to leave the Delhi-NCR area.

Initially, it was not clear where exactly the video was filmed. After that, the security forces investigated and found the spot and arrested the four persons involved.

Events in the wake of the SIR agitation

Protests started in Delhi demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and against the Special In-depth Revision (SIR) process of electoral rolls. On October 10, protesters were detained by the police in various parts of the city.

Due to the incident of beating during this protest, questions are now being raised about the security system. Attention has been paid to what further action is taken in this case.
