Eating salt with fruits during Navratri fast is harmful, what do experts say

New Delhi. Today is the second day of the holy festival of Sharadiya Navratri. On this festival, nine forms of Goddess Durga are being worshiped across the country. During this period, most women fast for the entire nine days to receive the infinite grace of Mother Goddess. They should pay special attention to their diet to stay healthy. In fact, during this time many women use rock salt with fruits, which should not be done, because experts say that using salt with fruits during fasting can be harmful.

  • These fruits are not beneficial

Fruits without salt are more beneficial for health than those fruits in which rock salt or chaat masala is added. Eating this combination increases the risk of heart diseases. This happens because rock salt does not contain iodine, due to which it is not healthy to consume it.

    More potassium is found

Non-iodized salt contains high amounts of potassium, consumption of which can prove harmful for heart patients. Apart from this, eating rock salt mixed with fruits can cause stomach related problems. If you want, you can eat the fruit by adding normal salt and lemon to it.

Diabetic patients should not do this

People who have diabetes and are fasting, then do not consume fruits more than twice a day and never add sugar from outside in fruit chaat because sugar is already present in the fruit. Therefore consuming too much sugar is harmful for you.
