Atal held the front for 8 hours 34 minutes
The biggest hero of this war in Afghanistan was Sediqullah Atal. Atal, known for his aggressive batting, presented a brilliant example of patience here. He scored 111 runs on 332 balls and batted for 8 hours 34 minutes.
This is the seventh longest batting record recorded in the fourth innings of a Test. Also, he became the first Afghan batsman to score a century in the fourth innings of a Test. It also ranks third among the longest innings in Afghanistan’s Test history.

Atal had held the lead since the last session of the fourth day. On the fifth day, he batted carefully and hit boundaries whenever he got a chance. After hitting two sixes off Taijul Islam, he narrowly escaped being hit wicket against the same bowler. Ultimately Taijul ended his innings.
Wickets kept falling, but Afghanistan stood firm
Bangladesh got the wicket of Ikram Alikhil just before lunch. Liton Das took the catch with a brilliant dive. In this match, Liton achieved the feat of a century, a half-century and 9 dismissals behind the wicket. However, he also missed the opportunity to stump out Atal on 70 runs.
After this Ismat Alam was out after scoring 19 runs. After returning to the pavilion, he was seen crying emotionally. Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi returned from injury and scored 36 runs, but was caught at mid-on while trying to play a big shot.

Didn’t accept defeat even in the last overs
Qais Ahmed and Yamin Ahmedzai continued to fight for the last wickets. Ahmadzai scored 19 runs in 85 balls and supported CAS for 18.2 overs. When he got out, Afghanistan’s hopes rested on Cass.
About 10 minutes before the end of the match, Cass fell to the ground due to injury and needed help. After this Zia-ur-Rehman supported him. Both of them bowled the last five overs and Afghanistan drew the test with a six on the last ball.
