Why did Priyadarshan step away from Bhagam Part 2?
Actually, Priyadarshan rarely makes sequels of his films. No matter how big a hit that film is, they do not make a part 2 of it. He has made sequels of only one or two films. That's why he always hesitates about the sequels of his films. He believes that the sequel of any iconic film should be made only if its story is better than the first film. According to him, it is not right to make a sequel to the first film just to take advantage of its popularity. Giving an example, he mentioned the Terminator franchise, in which according to him the second part was better than the first film.

Regarding directing the sequel of Bhagam Bhag, he said that he never makes sequels. But if you want to make a second part then it should be better than the first part. He said, 'I never make a sequel film, because if you are making a part 2, then its part 2 should be better than part 1. He further said that people often make sequels when the first film is very successful. Therefore, if you are not able to make it better, then that franchise has no meaning. What happens with sequels is that they are selling the value of the first film. They are not making a film but they are making a project and I am not interested in such projects.
Akshay Kumar asked Priyadarshan a question about Bhagam Part 2
Priyadarshan told that even at the time of announcement of Bhagam Part 2, Akshay had asked me, 'Are you interested in directing it?' I clearly said no. The question is, when you make a film and people love it, why would you want to spoil that praise by making a part 2? That's why I refuse to make sequels. He said that other people make sequels of my films, I have no problem with that.
What did Priyadarshan say about Hera Phera 3?
Director Priyadarshan was asked whether the reason for staying away from 'Bhagam Bhag 2' was the same reason due to which he kept himself away from 'Hera Pheri 3' also. On this he said that there are many reasons in this matter. He said that the controversies and situations related to 'Hera Pheri 3' are quite complicated. This is becoming a big chapter. However, when he was clearly asked whether he thought that these films would ever be made, he gave a heart-breaking answer. He said that he does not think that 'Hera Pheri 3' will ever be made.
