US Secretary of State Rubio on India visit: Visiting these cities instead of Delhi, what are the preparations regarding energy cooperation?

Washington. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit India next week to further strengthen cooperation in the energy sector. The US State Ministry gave this information on Tuesday. The ministry said that during his visit from October 17 to 22, Rubio will first visit Samarkand in Uzbekistan and then visit Mumbai and Jamnagar in India. This will be Rubio's second visit to India after May. In May he met Foreign Minister S. Participated in the meeting of foreign ministers of Quad (members of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue) countries held in Delhi hosted by Jaishankar.

There will be discussion on increasing energy cooperation and investment

According to the US State Department, “Rubio will meet with senior government officials to strengthen the US-India strategic partnership, exchange views on regional and global developments, and discuss possibilities to increase cooperation in the energy sector.” The ministry said that Rubio will also meet industry leaders to promote opportunities for commercial investment and economic cooperation.

Why is Rubio's Jamnagar visit special?

Rubio's visit to Jamnagar is considered important because Reliance has an oil refinery here, which is the world's largest refinery located at one place. US President Donald Trump had announced in March that the first new oil refinery in America after 50 years would be built with the investment of Reliance Industries. Trump had said that this refinery will be built in Brownsville, Texas at a cost of US $ 300 billion.

America will increase strategic cooperation with five countries of Central Asia

Rubio will also participate in the ministerial meeting of the 'C5+1' group in Samarkand. During this, he will emphasize that increasing strategic cooperation through this diplomatic platform paves the way for a more peaceful and prosperous future for America and Central Asian countries. Rubio will also hold bilateral meetings with senior officials from all five countries of the 'C5' group, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic.

More than 200 American business representatives will also be present

A team of more than 200 American industrialists and business representatives will also accompany Rubio. The visit is likely to begin a new round of strengthening commercial cooperation between the US and Central Asia.
