Bureau Prayagraj
Prayagraj Municipal Corporation, under the leadership of Municipal Commissioner Neelam Sai Teja, has taken an important initiative towards solving the problem of poor shopkeepers who support their families by setting up street vendors in front of Yatri Hotel. The Municipal Corporation has decided to provide designated space to shopkeepers on the left side of the parking lot. This will give small businessmen an opportunity to run their business in a systematic manner.
The street vendors who had been setting up shop in front of Yatrik Hotel for a long time were facing the problem of finding a suitable place to set up their shop. To solve this problem, efforts were made under the leadership of Kuldeep Singh, State General Secretary of the National Organization of Street Street Operators and under the guidance of the organization's President Shyam Gupta.
The problem of shopkeepers was prominently put before the Municipal Corporation, after which it was decided to provide designated space.
Under the proposed arrangement, a space of 16 m × 26 m has been earmarked on the left side of the parking. Here a divider will be made by placing pots in the middle. Shopkeepers on both sides will get space to set up their shops in an organized manner, so that customers can also get the facility to sit and eat.
Along with this, the ground will be raised by pouring soil at the place designated by the Municipal Corporation, so that shopkeepers can get relief from the problem of waterlogging and mud during the rainy season.
Municipal Corporation's Additional Municipal Commissioner Arvind Rai and Colonel Dinesh Tanwar played an important role in this entire arrangement. At the same time, Municipal Corporation's Town Vending Committee member Ravi Shankar Dwivedi, Yatrik Market Committee Chairman Sanjay Sangharshi and General Secretary Prakashishna Srivastava also played their role in this initiative. This arrangement has been decided with the consent of the shopkeepers concerned.
This decision taken under the leadership of Municipal Commissioner Neelam Sai Teja is a relief step for those small businessmen whose livelihood depends on street trading. It is expected that in the next one or two days, shops will start operating here and shopkeepers will be able to start their employment in a systematic manner.
With this initiative of the Municipal Corporation, while the street vendors are expected to get a fixed place for employment, the customers will also be able to get better facilities. This step is being considered important towards supporting the livelihood of poor shopkeepers and developing a systematic vending system in the city.
