New Delhi. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu saying that he is shocked by the appointment of veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dushyant Gautam as the Governor of Sikkim.

Rahul Gandhi wrote in the letter that Madam President, 19 year old Ankita Bhandari refused to compromise her dignity for a VIP, due to which she was murdered. Even after four years, due to slow investigation by CBI, the question remains that who was that VIP? Many people including Ankita's family believe that Dushyant Gautam is connected to this case. In such a situation, I am shocked by his appointment to the post of Governor of Sikkim. No criminal proceedings can be taken against the Governor while he holds the post.
