Reliance's response to the 'Prime Minister Ambani' jibe

Recently, American industrialist Elon Musk targeted Mukesh Ambani on social media and called him 'Prime Minister Ambani'. He had raised the question whether Starlink would get an opportunity to compete fairly in India.

In response, Reliance said that the company has progressed in a country where new ideas are welcomed with domestic and foreign investment. However, according to the company, this system works within the ambit of law. The Government of India has made it clear that the licensing process is the same for all applicants. Reliance also mentioned that Jio's satellite services are also still awaiting necessary government approvals.

Example of Jio's initial journey given

Giving the example of its telecom business, Reliance said that when Jio entered the Indian market in 2016, many established companies were already present in this sector and Jio did not have any customers.

According to the company, Jio has gained the trust of more than 53 crore consumers in the last ten years. Reliance claimed that Jio has played an important role in providing affordable data and digital infrastructure to Indian customers.

Welcome competition in satellite broadband

Reliance said it welcomes healthy and transparent competition with all companies entering the satellite communications sector, including Starlink. According to the company, the objective of competition should be to provide better services to the customers.

In the statement, Reliance also said that it is the responsibility of all companies including Jio to provide better services to Indian citizens and follow the country's laws, regulatory provisions and national policies.
