Rohit Shetty to replace Salman Khan as ‘Bigg Boss 20’ host for ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’

Salman Khan won’t be hosting next week’s Weekend Ka Vaar on Bigg Boss 20. He broke the news on Sunday’s episode on October 18, telling the housemates that filmmaker Rohit Shetty will take over as host.

The 60-year-old star didn’t explain the reason, though reports say it’s because of prior work commitments.

Rohit is no stranger to reality TV. Besides directing films like Singham, Simmba and Chennai Expresshe has hosted several seasons of Khatron Ke Khiladi. This will be his next hosting stint after the finale of Khatron Ke Khiladi 15.

The Tiger actor has also been in the headlines for another reason. Tiger Shroff was attacked by three men who opened fire at him. In a purported social media post, a person named Anil Pandit, allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed he and Harman Sandhu were behind it.

“We, Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu, take responsibility for what happened to Tiger Shroff today. We had called him and tried to make him understand, but he did not listen. So today, we made sure to teach him a lesson properly,” the post read.

The post also threatened others in the industry. “Anyone in the Mumbai film industry who does not listen to us or works with Salman Khan will be next. Wait and watch.”

It also warned rival groups allegedly using the gang’s name, saying, “Some dogs from other groups who think they can gain fame by using our name will soon be killed and made famous.”

Since then, security has been stepped up at Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence.
