Will Vaibhav Suryavanshi have to sit on the bench in New Zealand also? Murali Karthik told the helplessness of Team India

Tezzbuzz Desk- 15-year-old young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi has caught the attention of the cricket world with his talent, but his wait to make his home debut in the Indian senior team is not over yet. After not getting a chance in the five-match T20 series against West Indies, now questions are being raised about his playing in the upcoming series against New Zealand. Vaibhav has reached Christchurch with the Indian team for the T20 series against New Zealand, due to which fans are expecting his debut. However, considering the current batting order of Team India and the performance of established players, it will not be easy for him to make a place in the playing eleven.

After his brilliant performance in the IPL, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become one of the most popular young cricketers of the country. He also showed a glimpse of his talent while opening with Abhishek Sharma in the Asian Games. Despite this, he had to sit on the bench for the entire series against Afghanistan and West Indies. Since his selection, fans are constantly raising the question that when will Vaibhav get a chance to showcase his ability in international cricket. Former Indian spinner Murali Karthik believes that there is no need to rush to include Vaibhav in the team. Speaking to India Today in a virtual interaction organized by Sony Sports Network, Karthik supported the team management's decision to retain the current opening pair of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma. According to him, change in the team should happen only when there is a real need for it.

Samson and Abhishek Sharma have scored 1,125 runs together in 38 T20 Internationals. This is India's fourth highest run-scoring partnership in this format. Apart from this, Ishan Kishan is also in great form. In such a situation, it has become challenging to make room for Vaibhav with the players already present in the top order. Karthik said that he is not in favor of dropping any player from the team just to make changes. Referring to the abilities of Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan, he said that it is difficult to make changes in the current circumstances. Karthik also compared Vaibhav's situation with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal has proved his ability many times with his batting in Test cricket and IPL, but due to the establishment of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in the ODI team, he too has had to wait for his chance. Karthik believes that Vaibhav also faces a similar challenge. Despite having talent, he will have to wait for his turn among the established players to make a place in the team.

Karthik also reminded that Vaibhav had made his debut in England when Sanju Samson was going through a bad phase and the team had to make changes. According to him, Vaibhav may get a chance in the future, but it is difficult to say when that time will come. Karthik believes that it is important to give clear information to the young players about their position in the team. Gautam Gambhir and Shreyas Iyer talking to Vaibhav and advising him to be ready for the occasion is part of this process. According to him, it is better to tell the bitter truth to the players, so that they can accept the circumstances and move forward. For now, all eyes will be on Vaibhav Suryavanshi's debut in the T20 series against New Zealand. However, considering the current opening options and competition, no definite claim can be made about his playing chances. Vaibhav has talent, but it is equally important to wait for the right time and opportunity to make a place in the Indian team.
