Patna. Government teachers of Bihar may have to wait longer for transfer. The transfer process has been affected due to the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct after the announcement of election dates. In such a situation, the teachers are now eyeing the possible action to be taken in November.
Portal can open from November 7
According to media reports, the e-Shiksha Kosh portal is likely to open from November 7 for general transfers. However, this is still a tentative date. Before the application starts, it will be necessary to complete the pending work at the district and divisional level. The situation will become clear only after the official announcement of the department.
Posting of 42 thousand teachers
In the first phase of the transfer process, 42 thousand surplus teachers have been sent to new schools in about 26 districts. However, this work is still pending in 12 districts. After this, the transfer process will be taken forward at the divisional level and state level.
Thousands of teachers are waiting
71,151 surplus teachers have applied for schools of their choice on the e-Shiksha Kosh portal. Apart from this, 4,259 applications have also been received for transfer with mutual consent. Teachers want that they can get posting near home or their area.
When will the final decision be taken?
The process under Bihar Teacher Transfer Rules-2026 could not be completed on time many times before. Now normal transfers are getting delayed due to election related restrictions and pending administrative work. If the remaining steps are completed on time, the application process can begin in November. At present, teachers will have to wait for official instructions from the Education Department.
