Mahisagar. Police have arrested his wife and his alleged lover in connection with the murder of a man in Mahisagar district of Gujarat. According to police investigation, the dispute started increasing in the house after the mobile phone gifted by the lover came into the hands of the husband. It is alleged that after this the wife and her lover together planned to remove the husband from the way.
The matter is of Garia village of Lunawada taluka. The deceased has been identified as Praveenbhai Nathabhai Vankar. His body was found about 200 meters away from the house on the border of the village. After the body was found, Kothamba police started investigation. When the initial investigation found the case suspicious, the police proceeded with the investigation on the basis of evidence and technical information found from the spot.
The alleged love affair was going on for three years
According to the police, Praveenbhai's wife Manishaben was in a love affair with Hitesh Patel, a resident of Kolvan village, for about three years. It is alleged that Hitesh had bought a mobile phone for Manishaben to talk. This phone fell into the hands of Praveenbhai, after which frequent fights started between husband and wife.
Investigating agencies claim that amid this dispute, both of them conspired to murder. According to the police, preparations for the incident had started about a week before the incident.
Hiding in the house at night, attacking sleeping husband
According to the initial investigation of the police, Hitesh was hiding inside the house on the night of the incident. After Praveenbhai returned and went to sleep, he was attacked with sticks. It is alleged that when they protested, there was a scuffle between the two and Hitesh tried to strangulate them with a sheet. Police say that during this time Manishaben also attacked her husband.
After this, both of them allegedly took Praveenbhai out of the house and hit him on the head with a washing stick. He died due to serious injuries.
Allegation of throwing the dead body 200 meters away from the house
According to the police, after the murder, the accused threw the body about 200 meters away from the house to make the incident appear to be the handiwork of an outsider. The next day, the deceased's son found the body during a search, after which the police was informed.
The police investigated the role of Manishaben and Hitesh Patel on the basis of technical surveillance, local information and evidence collected from the spot. After this both were arrested. Police have started further legal action in the matter.
At present, the allegations related to the conspiracy of murder and the role of both of them in the incident are part of the investigation. The final conviction in the case will depend on the judicial process.
