In a major setback for music fans in the national capital, Punjabi global icon Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming concert in Delhi, scheduled for October 30 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, has been denied security clearance by local authorities.
The decision was communicated by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) in an official letter addressed to event organiser BookMyShow. The police department cited heightened threat-related intelligence and heavy security commitments tied to the ongoing festive season as primary reasons for withholding approval.
“In view of the specific threat-related inputs, coupled with the multifarious security and law & order commitments arising out of the ongoing festive season and other important law & order concerns, the same cannot be acceded to,” the official notice stated regarding the application submitted on October 14.
The denial poses a major hurdle for the Indian leg of Dosanjh’s highly anticipated Aura India Tourwhich was set to kick off in New Delhi before travelling to cities like Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
Concertgoers who booked tickets through ticketing platforms now await official updates from the organisers regarding potential rescheduling or venue changes.
