Stock Market: The process of selling in the Indian stock market is not showing any sign of stopping. There was a sharp decline in the market and this was the third consecutive trading session when Sensex and Nifty closed in the red. Weak signals from global markets and heavy selling in major heavyweight stocks pushed the market downwards.

At the same time, NSE’s Nifty 50 also fell by 123.70 points (0.54%) to the level of 22,687.65, due to which it lost the important support level of 22,700. Due to this huge fall, the total market capitalization of BSE listed companies dropped to ₹457 lakh crore, due to which investors lost about ₹5 lakh crore.

disappointment in broad market
Market breadth remained entirely in favor of the bears. At the end of the day, 2,670 shares declined compared to 1,323 shares that gained, while 155 shares remained unchanged. Pressure was clearly visible on the broader market too, where Nifty Midcap and Smallcap indices closed with a decline of 1-1 per cent. Three consecutive days of decline have increased investors’ concerns for the upcoming sessions.
