'Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave 2026' will be inaugurated today, 150 'deep-tech' startups will set up stalls.

New Delhi, October 27 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 'Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave 2026' at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Tuesday.

This three-day conclave from October 27 to 29 will bring together leading scientists, researchers, academicians, policy-makers, industry leaders, startups and international experts. They will discuss emerging technologies and India's science, technology and innovation priorities.

12 main topics will be discussed in this conclave, which include Artificial Intelligence, Biotechnology, Advanced Materials, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Climate Science and Ocean Research.

The main focus of the discussions will be on setting research priorities, strengthening national capacities and translating scientific discoveries into practical, real-world solutions.

The event will also host a large-scale technology and innovation exhibition showcasing India's scientific achievements and emerging technologies. Around 150 'deep-tech' startups will set up their stalls, where they will showcase cutting-edge innovations and explain their potential uses in various sectors.

Under a new initiative named 'Global Connect Networking Event', over 300 invited participants from academia, research institutions and industry from India and abroad will come together. This forum will provide an opportunity to consider international research partnerships, industry-academia collaborations and pathways to taking innovations from laboratories to the market.

ISRO will also showcase emerging technologies as part of this conclave. Space agency Chairman V. Narayanan told in a pre-program (curtain-raiser event) that a model of the next generation 'Heavy-Lift Launch Vehicle' will be kept in ISRO's exhibition. This launch vehicle will be capable of delivering payloads weighing more than 30,000 kg into low Earth orbit. The event will also showcase the Chandrayaan-4 and Chandrayaan-5 missions, which aim to send Indian astronauts to the Moon.

The conference is a national forum organized by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) under the guidance of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India. ESTIC 2026 aims to strengthen India's science, technology and innovation ecosystem while supporting the vision of 'Develop India 2047'.
