PM Modi and CM Yogi should break their silence…Congress again raised questions on Ram temple offering controversy.

New Delhi. The political controversy over alleged irregularities in the offerings and valuable donations of Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya has once again intensified. Congress on Tuesday demanded answers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in this matter. Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh also reiterated the demand for an independent and impartial investigation into the entire episode under the supervision of the Supreme Court.

Jairam Ramesh posted on social media platform X and alleged that questions related to alleged irregularities in Ram Mandir Trust should be answered. He said that the country wants to know who are allegedly responsible in the matter related to the offerings. The Congress leader also said that the complete account of donations given by the devotees should be made public.

Congress raised questions regarding the audit of 2020

Jairam Ramesh claimed that in November 2020, a few months after the formation of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, a private audit company had pointed out several shortcomings related to internal audit and risk management. According to the Congress leader, in the audit, questions were raised on the clear definition of responsibilities, maintaining systematic records of donations and the system of double-checking transactions and data entry, terming the management as unprofessional.

They also claimed that there were deficiencies in arrangements related to bank reconciliation, availability of qualified staff for accounting and security and verification of IT data. Ramesh questioned that if these risks were warned about in advance, what steps were taken to address them.

Question on counting of cash citing SIT investigation

Citing the investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed in 2026, the Congress General Secretary claimed that cash was taken out 105 times from the cash counting room. He alleged that the employees would allegedly cover them up by standing in front of the cameras.

Ramesh also raised questions as to why action was taken against the person who complained and why receipts for some valuable donations given by devotees were allegedly not issued. Regarding these allegations, Congress has demanded a detailed investigation into the matter and clarifying the role of those responsible. However, independent verification of these allegations and the response of the parties concerned have not been established based on the information available in this story.

Also accused of 40 percent commission in contracts

Jairam Ramesh also mentioned the complaints of engineer Dinanath Verma related to the construction of the temple. According to him, Verma had accused Trust official Champat Rai of allegedly taking 40 percent commission in contracts, showing fake laborers and preparing inflated bills for materials.

According to the Congress leader, Verma had claimed that instead of taking action on the complaint, he was removed from the post. Ramesh also said that the investigation had revealed a case of receipts not being issued to the donors in respect of some valuable items. These allegations cannot be considered as established facts without confirmation from the parties concerned. Investigation into the allegations and response of the parties concerned will be important in the case.

Congress also expressed disbelief on the investigation of government SIT

Jairam Ramesh said that Congress does not trust the investigation by the government SIT. According to him, taking action against only a few employees will not solve the entire issue. He demanded that the role of all those involved in the alleged irregularities be investigated.

Congress says that the full accounts of the alleged shortcomings pointed out in the audit, allegations of commission taking in contracts, cash transactions and valuable donations should be revealed. The party has once again raised the demand for an independent and impartial investigation under the supervision of the Supreme Court. Jairam Ramesh said that the accounts of the offerings made by the devotees for the Ram temple should be public and no one should be exempted from accountability in the name of faith.
