A fresh depression has officially formed over the Bay of Bengal and is intensifying rapidly, according to updates from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The atmospheric system is expected to concentrate into a deep depression within the next 12 hours and further intensify into a cyclonic storm by the evening of November 2.
Moving in a north-westerly direction, the potential cyclone is projected to reach the Andhra Pradesh coast by the morning of November 3.
Meteorologists warn that wind speeds associated with the system will range between 80 and 90 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 100 km/h as it approaches the coast.
In response to hazardous sea conditions, the authorities have issued a strict ban prohibiting fishermen from venturing into the deep sea until November 4.
Coastal administrations across Odisha and Andhra Pradesh have been placed on high alert to monitor the trajectory of the system, prepare disaster management teams, and implement precautionary measures for vulnerable coastal areas.
